What are probiotics?
The word probiotics is derived from the Latin word “pro,” which means for, and the Greek word “biotic,” which means life.
Probiotics are live microorganisms that bestow a health benefit to the consumer.
Probiotics are used for many reasons
to help balance your gut.
You can take probiotics to help
fight Candida overgrowth, replenish your bacteria after taking antibiotics, or just improve the overall health of your gut.
The most common probiotic microorganisms are called lactobacillus and bifidobacterium.
Live probiotics can be found in foods like yogurt, kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, and many others.
